PARTE I INFORMATION ABOUT THE RACES

A - RACES -

The start line will like an Aircraft Carrier Flight Deck – FIFO – First In, Firts OUT

IMPORTANT: YOU MUST PRINT YOUR BIB.

These are the instructions about the BIB.

1- You must print your BIBs.

2- You  and also your support team members, have to have two ( 2 ) BIBs . One (1) BIB will be attached in your front, another one(1) in your back .

3- It is up to you to pick the collors

4- The size is 1/2 A4 and The numbers and letters dimmensions are: 5 Cm hight for 1cm large. See the attachment for more details.

5- Your support team members must have BIBs too. Their bibS ARE LISTED ON THE BRAZIL135 Website.

There will be a Staff member that will be available for all the Athletes.


H-   DROP BAGS (DB)

There will be DB transportation. Once you arive at the Estação Ferroviaria in SJBV, you will give to the Caminho da Fé Tend you Dbs.

DB AND LABLES RULES:

1- Plastic Bag 13 Gallons – VERY STRONG -

2- WATER PROFF LABELS

3- WRITE THE STATION NUMBER AND YOUR BIB NUMBER IN ALL SIDES OF THE LABEL

Station#1 - Aguas da Prata

Station # 2 - Borda da Mata

Station # 3 - Paraisopolis

Keep you Dbs closed. Opened DB will not be carried.


Dbs CARES:

1- keep your DB closed

2- Dbs with RED Labels will be transported to Paraisópolis.

3- Dbs with BLUE Labels will be transported to Borda da Mata.

250 athletes will be accepted


E- PAYMENTS FEE AND DATES

These are the steps:

1- Put your fee inside an envelop,

2 - Right you BIB on it,

3- Seal it,

4- Bring it to the Start Line

5- Delivery it directely to me at the start line

 6 - The Amount is 990.00 US$*

7- Americans Cheks are accepted.

8- For athletes residents in South and Central America the fee is 990.00 R$.

*- it is included 24hours assistance during the race time ( Boarding in Country of Origem and landing back)

F- RACE CANCEL POLICIES

The race will be cancel only if:

1- By State law (Estado de Minas Gerais or São Paulo)

2- Barricades around the Cities where the race goes.

3- If the Caminho da Fé is closed.



PART III -  Rules*

This Regulation is being made considering the conditions and factors existing at this time in which we live. Modifications may be made if the future reality is different from the reality

A - MODALITIES:

- BRAZIL 80 - 135 km -  SOLO - SÃO JOÃO DA BOA VISTA - BORDA DA MATA – 120 Hours

-BRAZIL135 - 217 km - SOLO - SÃO JOÃO DA BOA VISTA - PARAISÓPOLIS - - 120 Hours

The Badwater Time Qualification is 48 Hours.

1.0 - COMPLIANCE WITH DATES AND TIMES

1.1  All participants must observe and follow the dates of the Official Program

1.3 Athletes should be at the starting line as soon as possible after the start time 08:00 to 10:00 hs.

2. DUTIES & OBLIGATIONS

2.1 It is required that the athletes cover the entire distance of the race on foot and have a support crew. It is not mandatory to have a support car - Vehicles may only be shared by athletes.

2.2 The crew vehicle may be any type of CAR (not motorcycle). Despite the race route being well marked, the athlete may have (1) one pacer throughout the entire race if desired.

2.3 'Nobody is left behind'.  Is strongly recommended that all athletes  cross the finish line together with the support team members.

2.4 Bicycles may be part of the support crews.

2.5 Walking Sticks, Crutches, Staves, Canes, Staffs of any kind are not allowed. They are allowed in the following cases:

2.5.1 - Athletes over 65 year old.

2.6 Athletes may not have any physical contact with others throughout the race while moving forward on the course.

2.7 Athletes and support crew members should be friendly, courteous, discrete and show sportsmanship at all times.

2.8 WE ARE INVISIBLE: No trash is left behind anywhere on the course.

2.9 Changing clothes in public or publicly showing of any intimate parts of the body will immediately disqualify the athlete and his/her crew.

2.10 - The Car Security Blinking Light and the  wrist watch, MUST be returned to the race organization.


3. LEGAL & BUREAUCRATIC MATTERS

3.1 All athletes and their team members (support crew) signed all forms during the registration process.

3.2 No television or filming company or any of their representatives may monitor or follow the race without the written permission by the Race Director or Commandante Mário Lacerda's permission.

4. MEDICAL & SAFETY MATTERS

4.0 - All international athletes will be assisted by the Brazil135 Ultramarathon organization since they board in his hers country until they return back home. They can call 24 horus the Race Director during all this time to receive any kind of personnal assistance. This service is to guaratee their safety before, during and after the race.

4.1- Always keep in mind that safety is the most important thing throughout the race. This means the safety of the athletes, support crews, the race staff and the public in general is the most important. The roads are not closed for this event and, in fact, this time of year they are quite busy.

4.2 The Athlete may receive medical assistance or hospital care anywhere throughout the race course, provided that no substance is administered intravenously.

4.3 IV's of any kind are allowed during the race.

4.4 Athletes and nighttime pacers must use reflective clothing on the body, as well as LEDs/flashlights during the night. We recommend that reflective clothing is also used during the day.

4.5 The athlete is responsible for his/her team and also for their actions and vice-versa.

4.6 Always look in all directions before crossing a road. Remember that drivers do not expect to see a runner or parked support vehicle on the side of the road. We recommend the athlete only cross the road in case of extreme necessity and team members please take the utmost care when crossing the road. (While providing support to the runner, leaving temporarily or quitting the race).

4.7 Every inch of the race should be covered by the athlete on foot. If a runner gets lost on the course it is permitted to bring them back to the point where they made a wrong turn to resume the race. (No extra time will be given for athletes who get lost on course).

4.8 Should the athlete need to leave the race course temporarily, the point where he/she left must be marked with the strip supplied by the race organization. The strip should be placed in a location so that it can be seen from all directions. Upon returning the athlete start at the same point where he left the race. Athletes should only leave the race for rest or medical issues as the focus of the race is to maintain the highest possible forward motion and speed of the athlete from start to finish.

4.9 In case of withdrawal (DNF'ing) the athlete must inform the race director of his/her DNF. This can be done using the phones that will be provided at the pre-race meeting. The name, number and the reason why the athlete quit should be given.

4.10 All costs for medical evacuation or other medical emergencies will be the responsibility of the athlete or his/her support crew. The race organization is NOT responsible for these kinds of expenses at all.

4.11 Every athlete who is temporarily absent from the race without having marked the spot where he left with the strip provided by the organization, will be eliminated from the race.

5. AWARDS

5.1 THERE WILL BE NO MONEY PRIZES FOR ATHLETES WHO FINISH THE RACE.

There will be no prize  TO THE  ATHLETES WHO DNF (did not finish the race), neither to the one that cross the finish line after 60 hours.

5.2 Only those athletes who complete the race within the cut-off time limits described above will receive the award(s).

6. COMPLIANCE OF REGULATIONS AND PENALTIES

6.1- The rules exist to give opportunity and equality for all athletes and also to ensure that the Brazil 135 can be carried out in years to come.

6.2 - All offenses related to dishonesty, aggression or stupidity among athletes or athletes to members of the Race Staff may disqualify the athlete immediately.

6.3 - Other types of violations shall be penalized according to the Race Director , adding hours to the Athlete’s final time.:

6.3.1 - First infraction - 1 hour

6.3.2 - Second infraction - 2 hours

6.3.3 - DQ

6.4 - The Race Director has the authority at any time to cancel, modify or come up with a new rule based on any unforeseen or unique situation in order to maintain the integrity of the race, and the same goes for rules for all the athletes. The Race Director has full authority to change everything, despite the rules and their interpretations. There will be no 'appeals' in relation to decisions taken by the Race Director. Everyone, athletes and support crew members, who participate in the race accept these conditions in full.

6.5 - In all circumstances and situations what counts is the intention of these rules and sportsmanship that govern them.

RULES # 2 - BRAZIL 135 SE-BOOK

RULES FOR PARTICIPATION AND PUBLICATION OF PHOTOS AND TEXTS IN BRAZIL'S BOOK 135 ULTRAMARATHON
PLEASE NOTE - This book will be read by your son and daughter, make them proud of you!

1- RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLISHED PHOTOS AND TEXTS.
a) Authors*2 are responsible for published photos and texts.
b) The authors*2 exempt Br135 Ultramarathon and its Organizer, Commander Mário Lacerda from any responsibility for the published photos and texts.

2- RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SECRECY OF THE ACCESS PASSWORD
a) The authors*2 are responsible for the security and confidentiality of the access password.
b) Br135 Ultramarathon and its Organizer, Commander Mário Lacerda, guarantee to comply with all security requirements for user names and user passwords.

3- Final Publication
The organizer of Brazil135 Ultramarathon, Commander Mário Lacerda, reserves the right to publish only the material it deems appropriate, in accordance with its sole discretion.
